The physiotherapy and rehabilitation department with an area of about 200 square meters is one of the most equipped centers in physiology. The department, having adopted experienced team from among the university professors and being armed with the state-of-the-art technological equipment, provides inpatient and outpatient services to the clients in two shifts, morning and evening. It has seven rooms that are equipped with the most modern technological instruments. Besides, mechanotherapy section is equipped with exercise therapy. In this department, there is an exclusive section for exercise therapy and heart and lung rehabilitation. Physiotherapists are well-versed with the necessary skills to provide a variety of specialized techniques and manual therapy in neurology and orthopedic diseases, etc. The specialists’ staff are under continuous education and training and use new technology and methods of treatment strategically. The professional staff pay particular attention to physiological and affective needs of the patients so that they feel totally satisfied. The department’s amenities and facilities include Shockwave, decompression therapy with the spine and neck massage therapy, magnet, lymphatic drain, electro-acupuncture, laser beam, bio feedback and TDSC and heart monitoring system with specific therapeutic exercise equipment. Physiotherapy services are tailored to the patients in each of orthopedics, surgery, ICU or CCU departments. The services, which are provided constantly and daily, aim to prevent complications from surgery and hospitalization, prevent lung infections, increase capacity and improve respiratory function, prevent motion limitation and improve range of motion of joints, etc. The rehabilitation unit in physiotherapy department provides technical and medical therapies such as orthotics and orthopedic shoes, work therapy for hemiplegic patients, paraplegic and CP. Other activities taking place in this department include training courses for patients with back, neck and knee pain, exercise during pregnancy (before and after childbirth), exercises to relieve urinary incontinence, etc. In this regard, several courses and seminars with national and international leading experts are held.
